License Questions

How do I purchase a Journiv Plus license?

You can purchase a license on the Journiv Plus page. After purchase, you'll receive your license key via email.

License keys are typically sent via email within 48 hours of purchase. Please ensure you use a valid email address when purchasing.

How long is my license valid?

Licenses are valid for 1 year from the date the license email is sent (not the date of purchase). You'll need to renew your license annually to continue using Plus features.

Is Plus license valid for all users on my installation?

Yes, Plus license is valid for all users on your personal self-hosted installation.

Can I share my license on another installation?

No, licenses are bound to your specific installation's unique identifier. This prevents license sharing and ensures each license is tied to one installation.

Technical Questions

Do Plus features require an internet connection?

No, once your license is registered, Plus features itself work entirely offline. They run locally on your server and don't require an active internet connection to function.

Your licnese is validated periodically by Journiv's Plus server to ensure it is still valid and bound to your installation. The only information sent to the Plus server for license refresh is your installation's unique identifier and he last known signed license token.

Do Plus features send my data anywhere?

No, all Plus features process data locally on your server. Your journal entries, tags, moods, and analytics never leave your installation. The only external interaction is license validation, which doesn't exchange any journal content.

Do Plus features perform database operations?

No, Plus features do not perform any database operations. All database operations are performed by Journiv's core open source code. Plus features are designed to be peform only in-memory computational operations on your server locally.

How do I register my license?

  1. Log in to your Journiv instance as an administrator
  2. Navigate to Settings → Journiv Plus
  3. Enter your license key and the email address associated with your purchase
  4. Click "Register License"

No, Journiv Plus does not collect, store, analyze, or transmit your journal entries, media, tags, moods, or analytics. All processing happens locally on your server.

How is my license information stored?

A signed license is stored in your database. The license key itself is never stored in Journiv for security. Hence it is important to keep your license key secure and never share it with anyone.

How is license validation secure?

Licenses are cryptographically signed by the Plus server and verified locally by your instance.

Will more features be added?

Yes, new Plus features will be added periodically. As a Plus subscriber, you'll automatically get access to new features as they're released, at no additional cost during your subscription period.

What features are planned?
